Providing a safer environment for our guests and associates is a top priority. Achieving this is a shared responsibility.  Please join us in our efforts to continue to enhance the safety of our public spaces by complying with local regulations, practicing social distancing (staying at least 6 feet or 2 meters from other guests and hotel associates).  We appreciate your support and understanding.

Enabling social and physical distancing practices:


  • Signage throughout our hotels to remind guests to maintain social distancing.
  • One-way guest traffic flow is indicated.
  • Partitions installed at front desks and food and beverage service lines.
  • Occupancy limits and seating capacities reductions in our restaurants in compliance with local and state mandates.
  • Reduced capacity in elevators (Maximum 2 people).
  • Mobile Check-in and key via Marriott Bonvoy.
  • Enhancing cleaning protocols to disinfect every space, ongoing and especially during peak usage.
  • Consistently and frequently disinfecting all high-touch items like elevator buttons and escalator handrails.
  • Hand sanitation stations added throughout the hotel, especially in high-traffic areas.
  • Staff members wear PPE (e.g., face coverings, gloves, etc.) based on the activities they are performing.
  • Guests should wear personal face coverings.
  • Deep cleaning each guest room between stays (Rooms should be empty at least 48 hours to apply the deep cleaning process)

Every guest room is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to your arrival. During your stay, we will not provide housekeeping automatically every day. If you wish to receive daily housekeeping refresh service, please let our guest services team know. We will be happy to schedule service according to your preferences. Please note that if you are staying with us a bit longer, we will automatically clean your guest room after every 6th night.
We are committed to making the amenities and services at our property available to you while complying with local regulations, including guidance on reducing capacity in public spaces and reinforcing social distancing. The modifications we have made include:

Fitness Center: Open, face masks required at all times.
Swimming Pool: Open, social distancing required.
Beach Club: Open, social distancing required

In restaurants and bars, items such as condiments, silverware, glassware, and napkins are not pre-set on tables to allow for effective disinfection in between each guest. QR menus are available in all our restaurant:


Kaajal: Open, assisted buffet service for breakfast and a la carte service for the rest of the day.
Nuup: Open, Grab and Go.
Zek Bar: Open, assisted service.

Marriott Bonvoy Member Benefits: We are committed to delivering the Marriott Bonvoy benefits for your membership level. Thank you for your understanding in cases where we may have to offer an alternative. Marriott Bonvoy members are invited to use the Marriott Bonvoy App (available on the App Store and Google Play) to take advantage of contactless options, including:
  • Mobile Check-In/Check-Out: Let us know via the app when you are planning to arrive and once you departed.
  • Mobile Key: Forgo the front desk altogether and go straight to your guest room.
  • Mobile Dining: Order your private, in-room dining through the app.
  • Mobile Guest Requests: Connect with us via the app to request items you would like delivered to your guest room.

Please note that various countries are requiring negative COVID-19 test results for passengers to re-enter to their country of origin, or final destination. Please contact our concierge desk at then resort for more information. The safety and well-being of our guests and our associates are of paramount importance to us and our staff is ready and available to assist you.

Starting December 6, 2021, all air passengers, regardless of vaccination status, must show a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 1 day before travel to the United States. Additionally, Non-US citizens must be fully vaccinated to travel to the United States by air.

For those travelers who are required by government regulations or would like to take a COVID-19 test before returning home, Renaissance Cancun Resort & Marina offers guests the convenience of on-site testing. Tests results are returned after 24 hours directly to the guests. Registration is required in advance for on-site testing.

As requirements can vary as to time needed for test prior to re-entry and / or specific test types, we recommend guests review the requirements of their country of origin or final destination.
