Hotel Information

Providing a safer environment for our guests and associates is a top priority. Achieving this is a shared responsibility. Please join us in our efforts to enhance the safety of our public spaces by complying with local regulations, practicing social distancing (staying at least 6 feet or 2 meters from other guests and hotel associates), and wearing face coverings whenever you're in public areas of the hotel. We do appreciate your support and understanding.
Streamlined open-air check-in procedure, weather permitting. Signage throughout the resort to remind guests to maintain social distancing and protocols. Our restaurant occupancy limits and seating capacities are in compliance with local mandates. Partitions are installed at front office reception desks and food and beverage service lines. Public areas are treated daily with electrostatic sprayers with hospital-grade disinfectants.

In keeping with Marriott's Commitment to Clean, we have made several enhancements to our cleaning protocols throughout the resort, as well as in our guest rooms, suites and villas. It is also worth noting that Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina has earned a Gold Seal Certification from the BVI government.

Enhanced Public Space Cleaning: We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfection, particularly in areas with high traffic including restrooms, elevators, and stairwell railings as well as provided more hand sanitizing stations.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Staff members will wear PPE (e.g. face coverings, gloves, etc.) based on the activities they are performing and based on direction by the local authorities. Guests are required to wear personal face coverings whilst indoors.

Electrostatic Spraying: Our resort is utilizing enhanced technologies, including electrostatic sprayers with hospital-grade disinfectants, to support our already rigorous cleanliness protocols.

Disinfectant Wipes: Available in the room for every arriving guest as well as upon request.


Housekeeping: Every guest room, suite and villa is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to your arrival. For your safety during your stay we will not be providing in-room housekeeping.  In-room amenities, toiletries and room service will be delivered to your door upon request.
Fitness Center: Open, masks required at all times.
Spa: Open, masks required for entry.
Beaches & Pools: Open, please adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Private Ferry: Operating, reservations required.
Restaurants & Lounges: Modified operations. Refer to Food & Beverage Offerings section for additional details.
Boutique & Gourmet Market: Open, masks required at all time.

Starting on July 16, 2021: Due to increased protocols in the BVI, resort dining seating areas are limited to overnight guests and visitors only, provided that all prescribed health and safety measures are strictly observed. Please confirm with our staff upon arrival for the most recent operating hours.

Pre-Arrival Protocols

  • Prior to your arrival, please visit the BVI Gateway Online Portal to complete a travel declaration and upload test results and get approval, in the form of a BVI Gateway Traveler Authorization Certificate, to visit the BVI before boarding their flight. Proof of medical insurance that includes coverage for COVID-19 must also be provided.
  • Travelers must begin their application no later than 48 hours before travel and must be completed at least 24 hours before travel date and time. All applicants in pending status, who have not completed their necessary requirements 24 hour prior to travelling, will be denied.

Before Going Home

Please note that various countries are requiring negative COVID-19 test results for passengers to re-enter to their country of origin, or final destination. For those travelers who are required by government regulations or would like to take a COVID-19 test before returning home, Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, Autograph Collection is able to connect you with a series of hospitals and laboratories that offer PCR testing and happy to help book an appointment. As requirements can vary as to time needed for test prior to re-entry and/or specific test types, we recommend guests review the requirements of their country of origin or final destination. The safety and well-being of our guests and our associates are of paramount importance to us and our staff is ready and available to assist you.

Effective 15th June 2021, fully vaccinated persons traveling from overseas do not need to quarantine if providing an RT-PCR test or an approved rapid antigen test within five days of arrival and provide satisfactory evidence of being fully vaccinated.

Effective 19th July 2021: ALL persons are subject to a rapid test upon arrival, at a fee of $50.00
