Hotel Information

Providing a safer environment for our guests and associates is a top priority. Achieving this is a shared responsibility. Please join us in our efforts to enhance the safety of our public spaces by complying with local regulations, practicing social distancing (staying at least 6 feet or 2 meters from other guests and hotel associates), and wearing face coverings whenever you're in public areas of the hotel. We do appreciate your support and understanding.

The County of Hawaii has mandated that face masks be worn at all times in public settings. It is required for all guests and associates to wear a face mask in all indoor and outdoor public areas throughout the resort, and to maintain a social distance of at least 6 feet.

 

There is signage throughout our hotel to remind guests to maintain social distancing, occupancy limits and amenities in compliance with local and state mandates, and partitions installed at front desks and food and beverage service lines.

In keeping with Marriott's Commitment to Clean, we have made several enhancements to our cleaning practices throughout our property and in guest rooms. These include:

 

  • Enhanced Public Space Cleaning: We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfection, particularly in areas with high traffic, including restrooms, elevators, and escalators, as well as provided more hand sanitizing stations.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Associates will wear PPE (e.g., face coverings, gloves, etc.) based on the activities they are performing and based on direction by the local authorities.
  • Face Coverings: Guests are required to wear face coverings in all public spaces. This includes, but is not limited to, lobby, guest room corridors, elevators, meeting spaces, public restrooms, food & beverage venues, business centers, fitness center. Face coverings may be removed while seated in our restaurant and bar or swimming pool but guests are expected to keep face coverings on while moving to and from our pool areas.
  • Electrostatic Spraying: We're utilizing enhanced technologies, including electrostatic sprayers with hospital-grade disinfectants in our public spaces, to support our already rigorous cleanliness protocols.
  • Room Amenities: Disinfectant wipes are available in the room for every arriving guest as well as upon request.
  • Housekeeping: Your guest room is your sanctuary throughout your stay with us. As part of our commitment to your health and safety, we have deeply cleaned your room in preparation for your arrival. We will not enter your room unless you have a request for maintenance or a daily housekeeping service, which will be completed while you are away from the room. If you are staying with us a bit longer, we will automatically clean your guest room after every 6th night.

We are committed to making the amenities and services at our property available to you while complying with local regulations, including guidance on reducing capacity in public spaces and reinforcing social distancing. The modifications we have made include:

 

  • Adult Pool: Open 8am -10pm.  
  • Family Pool & Slide: Open 8am -10pm.  (Slide hours vary Friday - Sunday)
  • Hot Tubs: Temporarily closed
  • Spa: Open.  Reservation only; limited hours
  • Fitness Center: Open.  Reservation only; limited hours
  • Basketball/Tennis Courts: Open
  • Club Lealea: Temporarily closed
  • Kaiulu Club Lounge: Temporarily closed
  • Cultural Center: Temporarily closed


Due to limited services, $30 resort fee is waived until further notice.

In response to the current environment, the hotel will follow enhanced sanitation guidelines.


Wailele Terrace: Open for Breakfast service Saturday & Sunday. 6:30am - 10am
Holua Bar and Grill:  Open for Lunch service Friday - Sunday. Hours may vary.
Rays on the Bay:  Temporarily closed
Holoholo Market:  Open daily. Mon-Fri 7am-8pm. Fri-Sun 7am-10pm

In order to preserve a safe pool environment, please note the following pool rules and requirements:

 

  • Posted pool rules will be enforced
  • Slide is opened for limited hours Friday-Sunday
  • The pool is available for use by registered hotel guests only
  • Do not use pool while impaired by alcohol or drugs
  • No glass or cans in pool or on pool deck
  • Pets are not permitted in the pool area
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Pool towels are available through the Towel Tracker near the adult pool.

  • Mobile Check-In/Check-Out: Let us know via the app when you are planning to arrive and once you departed.

Available benefits vary by location and membership tier. At this hotel, please note that we currently offer the following Marriott Bonvoy benefits:
  • Breakfast: Effective August 8, breakfast will be served daily as takeout only. A continental option is available for Platinum elite and higher guests that choose breakfast as their benefit.
  • Lounge Access: Kaiulu Lounge is closed until further notice.
  • Welcome Gift: The front desk will automatically add the 500 point gift at check-in.
  • Late Check-Out: Based upon availability according to the standard.
  • Mobile Check-In/Check-Out: Available according to the standard.
  • Mobile Key: Available according to the standard.
  • Mobile Dining: Mobile dining is not available.
  • Mobile Guest Requests: Available according to the standard.

Guest planning a trip to Hawaii, or between the Hawaiian Islands, should review current government guidance, as this information changes frequently. Beginning October 15, Hawaii will launch a Pre-Travel Testing Program that provides travelers with an alternative to the mandatory 14-day quarantine.

 

All arriving passengers to Hawaii are also required to fill out a mandatory State of Hawaii online travel and health questionnaire. Save time during your arrival screening process by completing it online no sooner than 24 hours before you depart, and please follow all pre-arrival procedures.


Once in Hawaii, please travel pono (responsibly) and follow all local guidelines. For the current government guidance and to access the online travel and health questionnaire please visit Hawaii's official tourism website GoHawaii.com.


At check-in the hotel staff will ask you the following: Documentation that indicates arrival to the Big Island 14 days prior to your arrival date that will be verified with the airlines; If you cannot prove this you will be designated for mandatory quarantine. For our Big Island residents, please bring your hotel confirmation and local ID with proof of Big Island residency to expedite the arrival process at our check in shack.
