Now it's time to kick it up a notch. As part of Marriott International's family of brands, we have implemented a multi-pronged approach to meet the health and safety requirements of our "Commitment to Clean" standards.

We have further raised our already diligent cleaning standards and protocols, while making some tweaks to our services, amenities, and facilities available during your stay.

Providing a safer environment for our guests and associates is a top priority. Achieving this is a shared responsibility. Please join us in our efforts to enhance the safety of our public spaces by complying with local regulations, practicing social distancing (staying at least 6 feet or 2 meters from other guests and hotel associates), and wearing face coverings whenever you're in public areas of the hotel. We do appreciate your support and understanding.
The wellbeing of our guests and associates is of paramount importance. We are taking additional steps to ensure the safety of our guests.

At Aloft Kathmandu Thamel, we are committed to providing you with a safe environment that aligns with expert protocols for working to defeat COVID-19. At property level, we have placed signage throughout our hotels to remind guests to maintain social distancing, occupancy limits and seating capacities reductions in our restaurants in compliance with local and state mandates, and partitions installed at front desks.

In keeping with Marriott's Commitment to Clean, we have made several enhancements to our cleaning practices throughout our property and in guest rooms. These include:

 

  • Enhanced Public Space Cleaning: We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfection, particularly in areas with high traffic including restrooms, elevators, and escalators as well as provided more hand sanitizing stations.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Staff members will wear PPE (e.g., face coverings, gloves, etc.) based on the activities they are performing and based on direction by the local authorities. Guests are welcome to wear personal face coverings.
  • Electrostatic Spraying: We're utilizing enhanced technologies, including electrostatic sprayers with hospital-grade disinfectants, to support our already rigorous cleanliness protocols.
  • Room Amenities: In guest rooms, we have added detailed cleaning practices, requiring all surfaces to be thoroughly cleaned with hospital-grade disinfectants. All in room amenities are replaced on every new arrival.
  • "Hygiene in- charge" on every shift to ensure proper sanitization and documentation of all touch points.


Every guest room is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to your arrival. We will provide housekeeping cleaning services after your third night with us and while you are away from the room. If you'd like to receive additional daily cleaning, simply let our team know and we will gladly take care of it.

We are committed to making the amenities and services at our property available to you while complying with local regulations, including guidance on reducing capacity in public spaces and reinforcing social distancing. The modifications we have made include:

 

  • Fitness Center: Open for in-house guest and closed for visitors and club members, face masks required at all times.
  • Spa: Closed, until further notice.
  • Shuttle: Operation adhering all the safety measures.
  • Lounges: Open, face mask required for entry.
  • Restaurant: Open, face mask required for entry.
  • Pool: Closed, until further notice.
  • Nook Restaurant: 7:00 am to 10:00 pm.
  • W XYZ: 11:00 am till 10:00 pm.
  • Marriott on wheels: 8:00 am till 7:00 pm (Delivered for your safety).
  • Hygiene: Complete caution with regards to hygiene levels are maintained.
  • Packed with care: All orders are freshly cooked, safely packed and delivered at your doorstep.
  • Food contact surfaces like work tables, platforms are sanitized using chlorine solution after every process. Allowed to air dry.
  • Critical food contact materials - Chopping board, graters, storage containers etc are immersed in chlorine solution at every shift for at least 10 - 15mins and then air-dried.
  • All food handlers are extensively trained and audited daily for safe food practices. All kitchen processes are strictly undertaken with proper food safety gear (face mask, vinyl gloves, hand sanitizer, etc.).
  • All food packages are unboxed and sanitized from outside using chlorine and then maintained in the food storage inventory.
  • All perishables are cleaned using the ozonizer and vegetable washer at the receiving bay itself before they reach the kitchens for processing or storage.
