Important Update to Travel Requirements
The County of Kauai Mayor issued an Emergency Rule ("Order") that imposed a temporary moratorium on the Island of Kauai's participation in the State of Hawaii's pre-travel testing program, which commenced on December 2, 2020. At this time, all incoming travelers to Kauai are required to quarantine for 10 days.

As a result of the Order, the Kauai Marriott Resort ("Hotel") sought and received approval from the County of Kauai for an Enhanced Movement Quarantine zone ("EMQ"), which is also known as a "resort bubble", covering certain portions of the Hotel property and Marriott's Kauai Beach Club ("Resort"). This means that you have the option to be part of this EMQ when you stay at the Resort. If you choose to opt-in to be part of this EMQ, you would be permitted to move around certain identified portions of the Hotel and Resort properties during your required quarantine period.

Enhanced Quarantine Movement (EMQ) Details
The following are only some details related to the EMQ that will apply to you if you choose to opt-in to the EMQ program in connection with your upcoming reservation: (Interisland Travelers skip EMQ section & see Rule #23A below)

  • Register with Hawai`i's Safe Travels Program. https://www.gohawaii.com/travel-requirements.
  • Upon arrival at the Resort, you will need to present proof of a negative COVID-19, FDA approved PCR or antigen, test. You must present a hard copy of your test result to our Front Desk. Your first AQUA band is included in the resort fee. If there is more than 1-person staying in your room, you will be required to pay an additional fee of $100.00 per person staying in the same room ages 15 and older. This fee covers the cost of the AQUA (Active Quarantine User Ally) Band that each member of your traveling party age 15 and older will be required to wear throughout the entire required quarantine period.
  • Each participant is required to have a Smart cellular phone as each participant will be required to download the AQUA tracking app on their Smart phones to link with the AQUA band. To help expedite your check-in we recommend every person participating in EMQ to download the AQUA (Activity Quarantine User Ally) App before arrival. Visit https://theaqua.world to download the AQUA app on either your Android phone or iOS (iPhone). Once downloaded each participant will need to set up an account with the app accordingly. Upon arrival you will be able to sync your phone to your AQUA band at check-in. Executing these steps prior to your arrival will certainly expedite your check-in process.
  • Each additional wristband purchased will receive a $25 Food & Beverage credit for use at the Aupaka Terrace and/or Kukui's restaurants on-property during your stay. This credit is not transferable and will expire if not used during your stay. Some limitations may apply.
  • Kalapaki Beach is NOT within the parameters of the Resort Bubble and is off limits. There will be designated areas for you to enjoy at the pool, on the lawn area and dining options.
  • There is a separate fitness facility for your use. Once you have completed your quarantine, you may see front desk to remove the band and be able to explore our beautiful island.

All the above is required to participate in the EMQ program. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Please be advised that you are responsible for all costs associated with the EMQ stay and test(s) that are required by the Rules listed above.
