Providing a safer environment for our guests and associates is a top priority. Achieving this is a shared responsibility. Please join us in our efforts to enhance the safety of our public spaces by complying with local regulations, practicing social distancing (staying at least 6 feet or 2 meters from other guests and hotel associates), and wearing face coverings whenever you're in public areas of the hotel. We do appreciate your support and understanding.


HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO has collaborated with Ecolab (Ecolab G.K., a Japanese company), a global leader in infection prevention solutions, to formulate a hygiene promotion programme against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), so that our guests can stay with us and enjoy our facilities with peace of mind. We have incorporated Ecolab's know-how and scientific approaches into our hygiene and cleaning procedures. We would like to thank you for your understanding and cooperation in ensuring the health and safety of your fellow guests and hotel staff during your stay with us in Kyoto.

 

What we ask of our guests:
- If you have a fever or feel unwell, please do not visit the hotel.
- When you arrive at the hotel, we will take your temperature using a non-contact thermometer. If your temperature is above 37.5C, please understand that you will not be permitted to enter the hotel.
-When entering the hotel, please wear a mask and disinfect your hands and fingers with the sanitiser provided.
- If you feel any changes in your health during your stay, please inform hotel staff.

Signage throughout our hotels to remind guests to maintain social distancing, occupancy limits and seating capacities reductions in our restaurants in compliance with local and state mandates, and partitions installed at front desks and food and beverage service lines.

 

 


Hotel initiatives - our commitment to our guests:
- The hotel is constantly ventilated, regularly cleaned and sanitized, and all equipment is sterilised.
- Hand and finger sanitisers are available throughout the hotel.
- We have limited lift capacity to a maximum of 4 persons.
- All hotel staff wear masks, wash their hands, sterilise their hands and fingers and gargle. 

 

Regarding your stay with us:
- We have placed partitions at each counter and desk to prevent droplet infection.
- All check-in equipment is thoroughly sterilised.
- Hotel staff are not allowed in the rooms during your stay.
- Room cleaning during your stay is carried out at the guest's request.
- The hotel staff wear masks, wash their hands, sterilise their hands and fingers and gargle thoroughly.
- Upon check-in, each group will be given their own disinfectant spray so that you can disinfect any areas of concern yourself.

 

Regarding our restaurants and THERMAL SPRING SPA:
- Please wear a mask and sterilise your hands/fingers. A member of staff will take your temperature with a non-contact thermometer when you enter the restaurant.
- Please note that guests with a temperature of 37.5C or higher will not be allowed to enter the restaurant.
- All areas of our restaurants are thoroughly sanitised and cleaned.
- Tables and seats have been well spaced given due consideration for social distancing.
- Masks are worn by staff during SPA treatments.
- Please note that the Thermal Spring and Fitness Gym may become a little crowded at certain times of day.

Regarding the guest rooms:
- Room cleaning during your stay is carried out at the guest's request.
- Housekeeping staff wear masks and face shields, wash their hands, sterilise their hands and fingers, gargle and change gloves.
- We have removed all magazines from the rooms.

 

 


Every guest room is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between each guest. If you have any specific housekeeping preferences or would like to not receive housekeeping service during your stay, please contact us at any time.

Notification of Power Outages due to Legally Mandated Electrical Equipment Testing

 

Thank you for your continuing support of HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO.
Due to testing and inspection of electrical equipment at the hotel as required by law, please note that there will be planned power outages for a few minutes at the hotel on the times/dates detailed below.
We acknowledge that these power outages may cause our guests some inconvenience, and we ask for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

 

Schedule:

  • February 15, 2022 (Tuesday) at 11:00pm and February 16, 2022 (Wednesday) at 5:00am

  • February 22, 2022 (Tuesday) at 11:00pm and February 23, 2022 (Wednesday) at 5:00am

Each power outage is expected to last a few minutes, as our systems switch over to temporary power sources following a simulated loss of power supply from our main power source.



During the power outage, the following systems will be briefly affected:

  • Electronic devices such as automatic doors, hotel lighting, guest room lighting,
    air conditioning, televisions and the internet will be unavailable for a few minutes.

  • Hot and cold water supply to guest room washbasins, showers and toilets will be
    unavailable for a few minutes.

  • Some of the hotel elevators will not be operational during the outage.

The Thermal Spring is temporarily closed for facility maintenance tests as required by law

HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO is undertaking a facility maintenance test,
as legally required once a year, on the Thermal Spring and as a result this facility
will be closed as per the dates/times detailed below.

 

Operations are suspended from February 14, 2022 to 3pm on February 18, 2022
* Regular operation all day February 13, 2022
* Regular operation will recommence at 3pm on February 18, 2022


We apologise to our guests for this inconvenience and ask for your understanding therein.

In accordance with the announcement by Kyoto City rescinding their request for eating and drinking establishments to shorten their business hours, please note that all restaurants on the property will return to regular business hours starting October 22nd, 2021.

As always, our overriding principle at HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO is to put the safety of our guests and staff first. We remain committed to doing all we can to ensure our guests can enjoy our services with peace of mind.

Our In-room dining service will remain unchanged for the time being as follows: In-room Dining Available from 7am; last order accepted at 11pm.
