Hotel Information

Providing a safer environment for our guests and associates is a top priority. Achieving this is a shared responsibility. Please join us in our efforts to enhance the safety of our public spaces by complying with local regulations and wearing a face covering - which is required - whenever you're in public areas of the hotel. We do appreciate your support and understanding. We remind you also to practice social distancing, staying at least 6 feet or 2 meters from other guests and hotel associates.

Please be advised that effective of December 5, 2020, California Governor, Gavin Newsom's office and The California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) have issued a Southern California regional "stay-at-home" order which prohibits hotels from allowing guests to stay for leisure or individual travel. Per the ordinance from the Governor's office, please see item below, referring to hotel travel:


"When any California region is under a Regional Stay Home Order, no hotel or lodging entity in California can accept or honor out of state reservations for non-essential travel, unless the reservation is for at least the minimum time period required for quarantine and the persons identified in the reservation will quarantine in the hotel or lodging entity until after that time period has expired.


Additionally, hotels and lodging entities in a county under a Regional Stay Home Order cannot accept or honor in-state reservations for non-essential travel.


Hotels or other commercial and residential buildings may offer lodging for essential functions and travel including COVID-19 mitigation and containment measures, treatment measures, accommodation for essential workers, or housing solutions, including measures to protect homeless populations."


To help slow the spread of COVID-19 and in an effort to comply with state and county guidelines, Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa will only be accepting reservations that meet the below qualifications:

  • Essential Workers or Those Traveling to/from Essential Work such as First Responders or Healthcare Workers
  • People Who Cannot Stay in Their Own Home because Someone Needs to Self-Isolate/Quarantine There (Local guests only)
  • People who are in the area to care for a Vulnerable Person such as Elderly, Minor, Dependent, or Person with Disabilities


This new stay-at-home order requires hotels to only accept reservations from out-of-state guests for the length of the quarantine period, which is not specifically defined (14 days according to CDPH) - Reservations that do not meet these requirements must be canceled.


Signage throughout our Resort to remind guests to maintain social distancing, occupancy limits and seating capacities reductions in our restaurant and at Resort Pool, in compliance with local and state mandates, and partitions installed at front desks and food and beverage service lines.

Mobile check-in and key, and service requests via the Marriott Bonvoy™ mobile app.

No valet service is currently available for parking.


We have completed and are following our Marriott International Commitment to Clean Program, to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Your room has been sanitized, prior to your arrival.

Per Marriott International and San Diego County Regulations, we require that all guests who are traveling throughout the property are using a proper face covering to protect our guests and staff. We ask that all guests practice social distancing when you are in the public spaces of the hotel.

We are located on a 50 acre complex overlooking the Pacific Coastline with many outdoor venues to relax and enjoy the California climate in a Safe and Socially distanced manner.


Adjusted Hours of Food Operations

Monday - Friday: Breakfast Service from 7am - 10am (Grab & Go Only - located next to The Sheraton Tides Pool)
Saturday & Sunday: Brunch Service from 7am - 1pm
7 days/week: Dinner Service from 4:30pm - 9pm (Dine-In on heated poolside patio)

In keeping with Marriott's Commitment to Clean, we have made several enhancements to our cleaning practices throughout our property and in guest rooms. These include:

Enhanced Public Space Cleaning: We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfection, particularly in areas with high traffic including restrooms, elevators, and escalators as well as provided more hand sanitizing stations.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Staff members will wear PPE (e.g., face coverings, gloves, etc.) based on the activities they are performing and based on direction by the local authorities. Guests are welcome to wear personal face coverings.

Electrostatic Spraying: We're utilizing enhanced technologies, including electrostatic sprayers with hospital-grade disinfectants, to support our already rigorous cleanliness protocols.

Every guest room is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to your arrival. During your stay, we will not provide housekeeping automatically every day. If you wish to receive daily housekeeping refresh service, please let us our guest services team know. We will be happy to make schedule service according to your preferences. 

We are committed to making the amenities and services at our property available to you while complying with local regulations, including guidance on reducing capacity in public spaces and reinforcing social distancing. The modifications we have made include:

Beach: Open.

Golf: Open, social distancing required.


Sheraton Fitness Center: Due to CA State Regulations, the Sheraton Fitness Center will be closed until further notice.

Kids Club / Playground: Closed until further notice.

Shuttle: Operating on Normal Schedule.


Parking: We offer self-parking.

Restaurant - Grab & Go Service ONLY


Room Service: Now offering room service.


Pool: OPEN to resort guests Monday - Sunday from 9am - 7pm.

  • Saturday: 11:30am-5pm


Due to COVID-19 there are capacity limitations. Pool access is on a first come first serve basis. When at capacity, we do offer a wait list.
